Concept

Amoebe was created by Verner Panton in 1970 for the famous Visiona installation, which included several versions of this lounge piece. It is a marvellous example of close-to-the-floor lounge furniture and embodies the spirit of the early 1970s. Amoebe Highback has a flexible backrest that curves over the head of the sitter, forming a sculptural canopy. In this way, Amoebe Highback creates a sense of shelter and seclusion — especially in large, open spaces.
