alite looks so new because it is so new: its frame consists of anodized aluminium, which these days is one of the most sought after surfaces of upmarket architecture. This anodization is possible only because all its parts are bolted together and nothing is glued or welded. Thus arriving at an alite that at five kilos is not only light and easy to handle, but state of the art concerning sustainability and ecology as well: during its long life its parts can be exchanged as desired or necessary, its parts can be separated into sorted components and are thus 100% recyclable. But let’s rather not think about that yet.
