Table lights are accessories intended to provide direct illumination on outdoor dining tables, coffee tables, and in outdoor kitchens. The high-end table lights in this selection are designed and manufactured with the outdoors in mind, but can be just as easily used indoors, which can be the case during a rainy spell or in the winter.
Thomas Bernstrand’s ‘Shibuya table’ For ZERO is a table light with a spherical, textured glass cover available in a variety of warm colours, while Antonio Norero’s ‘Prêt-à-Porter’ for Slide is a polyethylene block with the silhouette of an archetypal table light. The latter is is also available in several colours, albeit brighter and more saturated.
Paolo Grasselli’s ‘Koala’ table light is more akin to a modern, minimalist desk lamp, but functions just as well during informal family gatherings, while Nika Tolvanen’s ‘Koho’ table light for FontanaArte resembles a ribbed jar with a robust, colourful lid that incorporated LED lights and can serve as a useful, mobile source of illumination.
Inma Bermúdez-designed ‘FollowMe’ by Marset is a minimalist version of a lantern with a delicate, curving handle made out of a thin strip of bent oak wood. Finally, Koray Ozgen’s ‘Asteroid Table Lamp / outdoor lighting’ is a large boulder made from internally-illuminated, milky polyethylene that is sure to create a one-of-a-kind night landscape.
