In search of innovation

'Research and Development' is an innovation module for B.A. students of the VID at Zurich's Hochschule der Künste (academy of arts). The module is led by lecturers Susanne Marti and Robert Wettstein.

The aim of the project was to sharpen the senses in identifying new configurations within the random. The display of various sample applications from the fields of the product world, art and everyday objects is intended to enable the integration of the humorous gesture as a design resource for creative work.

In view of the short duration of the project the participants had to make quick decisions and focus on a specific target at an early stage. The aim was to produce a finished, full-scale prototype by the end of the project. We take please in showing you six of these which we have selected specially.
