Holding a baby in your arms, writing a book, working on a project, enjoying a delicious meal, chatting with friends till late at night, holding a speech, travelling, trying out a new cure, learning an ancient language, what all these things have in common is the sitting posture. Most human activities are carried out in a sitting posture; it is for sure the most elegant of all human postures as well as the one with the most added values. Since 1964 the mission of the company Rossin has been to maximise comfort and enjoyment of sitting, in the “individual” form of the chair as well as the more “sociable” one of the sofa. Rossin seeks softness, comfort, health. This search however can not take place in a complete industrialised surrounding. The aim is not only the production of medium quality for mass consumption, but the completion and perfection of each single piece, manufactured by experienced hands. This choice combines the best between serial and individual production and is complemented by the careful selection of international collaborators, who have here the freedom to realise their projects.

The range of designer includes Luca Scacchetti, Denis Santachiara, Martin Ballendat, Setsu e Shinobu Ito, Wolfgang C.R. Mezger, Erla Solveig Oskarsdottir, Roger Webb, Lorenz * Kaz, Hanno Giesler and Lepper Schmidt Sommerlade. These professional designers do not like the idea of mass production, they strive for perfection of the object. Personalities of such a variety can only be brought together in one and the same catalogue through a consistent company philosophy: the aim is not only to offer a wide range of products but to represent cultural variety. Rossin exports its products to over 30 countries worldwide.
