Dinesen is Denmark’s leading manufacturer of exclusive plank floors and was founded in 1898 by the same familiy that runs the company today. Quality is the be-all and end-all for Dinesen, and each floor is custom-made in close consultation with the customers who include a number of international designers and architects. Dinesen values the direct contact. The floors are sold and delivered directly from the head office and production facilities in Denmark and Dinesen wood floors in Douglas and Oak are found in modern, design-led homes, manors, museums and churches worldwide. Dinesen is Founding Patron of Saatchi Gallery.
Every single day for four generations, life at Dinesen has revolved around wood, excellent craftsmanship and uncompromising quality. Over the years, production has been developed and optimised based on the latest technology. However, traditional craftsmanship virtues still have pride of place, with every single plank passing through no less than ten pairs of hands. Dinesen works closely with its customers and possesses the expertise required to create unique solutions.
Dinesen has been involved in a large number of prestigious international projects, from the Brandhorst Museum in Munich to the Saatchi Gallery in London, for which Dinesen has supplied more than 5,000 square metres of Douglas. At Salone del Mobile 2010 in Milan, Dinesen participated in the Wallpaper* Handmade exhibit, which presented the very best in handmade design. Dinesen also collaborates with bulthaup and Georg Jensen and has delivered exclusive wood floors to showrooms from Shanghai and Berlin to New York. Showrooms
