The Biennale Interieur, known for its uncompromising international selection of contemporary design, has been a strong force in the field of design events since it took place for the first time in 1968. Unlike other trade fair organisers, the Interieur Foundation adopted the status of a non-profit organisation from the start and brought an innovative model to represent design as a cultural as well as a commercial entity. With over 90.000 visitors, a selection of more than 300 international design brands and a broad cultural programme, the Biennale Interieur is the most relevant show to reach out to a knowledgeable design audience.

CITY IN THE BIENNALE AND BIENNALE IN THE CITY

With a fresh curatorial direction, the 23rd Biennale INTERIEUR 2012 will bring change and at the same time reinforce its connections with the avant-garde spirit of its creative roots. This year the Biennale breaks through the walls of the Xpo fairground and will venture into the city of Kortrijk. At the various locations of the Biennale Interieur, the Project Rooms - installations by international guests Ross Lovegrove (UK), Nendo (JP), David Bowen (US),Troika (UK), Greg Lynn (US) and Muller Van Severen (BE) - will take centre stage and offer a sensorial design experience.

City in the Biennale and Biennale in the City. The Kortrijk Xpo fairground and the Buda Island in the city of Kortrijk will be connected by an unique and free shuttle service in partnership with Audi.
