Stefania Andorlini About

Born in Florence, Italy, Stefania Andorlini lived in the city until she successfully completed her university studies. Having lived in Germany for the past 20 years, she has been working as an interior designer since 2000 and as a designer of serially produced furniture since 2008.

Her work has appeared in exclusive books and international magazines. The house known as “Haus S.”, which she designed in 2001, is the first property shown in the book titled, “40 Räume“, AV Edition (the top 40 interiors in Stuttgart) Her first pieces of furniture have already been discovered by some of the world’s leading insiders and have also appeared in a number of publications.

“I like the purity of an original gesture as it’s strongly iconic. It overwhelms me. But what I really like is when its strength paradoxically becomes contaminated. By this I mean when it takes on traces of life and history. I then love it.
I like to sense the materiality of an object, which becomes a part of the object when it is conceived and felt as being one of its chief characters.
And then..an unutterable balance, surprising and self-evident..the Italian tradition, which can magically merge grace and grandeur, originality and class..an irresistible allurement to which my work has succumbed.“
