spHaus was established in 2004 on the initiative of Filippo Dell’Orto. The company’s production guidelines were set up from the first catalogue: namely to offer a top-level engineering product with an excellent production quality. A product capable of going beyond the conventions of the sector’s large commercial brands by applying the principle of formal innovation, without ever losing sight of pureness and functionality and, above all, without ever being merely decorative.
spHaus then achieved the advantage of production excellence by aiming for the perfect balance between industrial production and handcrafting design industry capable of guaranteeing a unique object.
During the next years, the product range grew continuously, offering an increasingly complete and sophisticated catalogue. Italian and international designers began to collaborate with the spHaus Company by bringing variety and aesthetic richness without deviating from the established principles.
The spHaus catalogue now contains forty products destined to the professional market through contract supplies and to the private market for the furnishing of living areas.
The company, which is strategically located in the heart of Brianza, developed its production process by drawing on the area’s most important resource, that is by working in close contact with a network of small companies that specialize in the furniture sector. The business relations that continuously took place between these companies and spHaus have strengthened over the years and they now guarantee the highest manufacturing quality and prompt delivery.
This method makes spHaus a manufacturing company in all respects, even though it does not have responsibility for managing machinery or personnel. The supplier interacts with the company from the start of product development: namely from prototyping to product engineering, and up to production itself. Any spHaus project starts by taking account of its suppliers’ skills, competencies, production technologies and the materials they process.
From the business point of view, over the years, spHaus has implemented its sales and distribution program on a worldwide scale: today 80% of its revenues comes from exports and the development areas are divided into two reference markets: the Retail market consisting of the high-range, multi-brand stores and the Contract market for interior design. The spHaus series fit in here as characteristic products with a strong aesthetic impact for furnishing executives’ offices, hotels, restaurants and public areas in general. The company has recently concentrated its efforts precisely on this market segment, from which it has obtained very promising results for its future activities.
