"Come in, let me show you my home" is to be heard from both young and old when they present their private living and dwelling realm. Biographies change. After the schoolroom comes the lecture hall or the workbench, and the first job is followed by a home, family and children.
A lot can be fitted into one life – from the very beginning: 'algo' by interlübke.
Should we take a mathematical view of furniture for generations to come? A little research reveals the following: A precisely formulated set of instructions on how to solve problems of a similar kind and which, with predefined input data and applying known rules and using precisely described aids, leads to a particular result, is called an algorithm. That is complicated. algo is simple – a concept solution for an entire lifetime – from the beginning. Rolf Heide and Peter Kräling have created a versatile programme which, starting in autumn 2009, will guide us with consummate ease through time and space. It is not intended for one specific living area. Its design language is so timeless that we can use it to revise for vocabulary tests, write dissertations and later tell stories to our offspring: "When I was your age…". Or we can browse through our favourite books: "Bob the Builder" springs to mind immediately.
The child, or to be more precise the new bed and cabinet range, has a name: algo.
As we all know, it's never too late for a happy childhood. Even though Bob has since become Robert, you should continue to turn your realm upside down, rearrange your furniture – build away to your heart's content, outwards and upwards (after all, adolescents or contemporaries also change in their proportions). Thanks to a small frame on the top, the cabinets can be stacked with ease. If the furniture stands alone, this fine detail allows you to play with coloured covers. You can choose from felt in different colours, glass, grey mirror or wood. Depending on the variant, new individual pieces emerge constantly. You can place the bed next to the wall or in the middle of the room, or upholster the back panel. We don't know whether you are into winter sports, but just in case, the bed comes with runners, chrome-plated or lacquered in white and black.
Which favourite piece of furniture you place next to it, e.g. the wardrobe base or a family heirloom, is up to you.
The rhythm of algo? Let's take another look inside the building block: algo cabinets are available in two widths (41.8 cm and 80.0 cm ) and three heights (35.5 cm, 68.8 cm and 102.1 cm including foot). The beds come in two lengths (200 cm and 210 cm) and seven widths (from 90 cm to 200 cm) as well as with a higher and a lower head section. All the elements gleam in clear crystal white, have fronts with no handles front and are immaculately lacquered inside and out.
