Unveiled at this year's edition of the London Design Festival, our latest slice of Architonic Trend Analysis reveals the big hitters when it comes to furniture brands.

Ranking
Covering the first six months of 2015 and based on active text-search traffic on architonic.com, the top-ten rankings speak of longevity – an interesting mix of, on the one hand, the manufacturers that helped shaped the domestic-design landscape of the booming postwar period, for example Vitra, Minotti and Moroso; and on the other, the heritage brands of the first half of the 20th century, such as Cassina and Knoll, which served to usher modernism into the home. At the furthest two ends of the chronological spectrum are Thonet, which, with its iconic steam-bent, standardised furniture, was founded in 1819, and Hay, founded a couple of years into the new millennium.

Rationale
Architonic is the world’s leading research tool for the specification of premium architectural and design products. Our curated database currently provides information about more than 200,000 products from 1,500 brands and 6,200 designers. 16 million architects, interior designers and design enthusiasts annually choose Architonic as their guide to the very best. This gives us an insight into developments in the architecture and design markets, which we are keen to share with our community.

Methodology
Based on traffic information collected on architonic.com, the brand rankings are based on the number of relevant search queries entered in the text search field on architonic.com.
