Photo Tour Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair 2013
Scandinavians do it better. More than any other fair, it would seem, the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair manages time and time again to pull off that rare mix of top-drawer, highly polished design and a cool, laid-back atmosphere. 2013 was no exception.
Big enough to keep even the most design viracious of visitors happy, yet small enough to allow for more generous meetings and conversations, the SFF’s size means that a more meaningful dialogue develops over the five days in the Swedish capital through repeat encounters with manufacturers, architects, designers, retailers and journalists.
If any fair is the young designer’s fair, it’s Stockholm. Beyond its always intriguing Greenhouse show, which acts as a platform for independent designers and design school, there’s a greater presence across the board of fresh talent, with manufacturers more willing in this part of the world to forge alliances with young designers in the nascent stages of their careers.
