Architonic Photo Tours January 2013: imm cologne, BAU Munich
Architonic Bar at imm cologne
If it's imm cologne it must the now legendary Architonic Bar at über-cool Cologne nightspot, the King Georg Klubbar. This January's two-evening party (yes, two evenings) was packed to the gills as usual with Architonic's long-standing and newly made friends – manufacturers, retailers, architects, designers and journalists – all helping the Architonic team celebrate our tenth anniversary. The gin and tonics (courtesy of Monkey 47 Gin and Gents Tonic Water) were flowing and were the sounds by Animal Trainer (Hive Audio, Zürich). Here's a pictorial record for your enjoyment.
imm cologne 2013
Given that the German market is one of the few causes for optimism in an uncertain European context, it's no wonder that, for the first time in a long while, so many high-end exhibitors came together at this year's imm cologne. What's more, next to the usual Hall 11, a new premium Hall 3 – which came across as fresh and much more spacious in terms of its overall design – was successfully delivered, in which a good range of exhibitors, from many different sectors, took up residence. All of this made imm cologne a well-rounded and positive start to the business year.
A good indicator is also the fact that many manufacturers are bucking the trend for presenting all of their new products for the year at the Milan Salone del Mobile in April. This is a wise move, as even the most striking of pearls can get lost in a Milan that's already bursting at the seams.
We've also taken a look, as ever, at the prototypes and work of the design stars of tomorrow at the D3 Design Talents competition exhibition.
Here's our comprehensive photo tour, which brings you our highlights from imm cologne 2013.
