Architonic launches the new design year with you at the imm cologne
Concept Space - Disco - Guide

From 16 to 22 January 2012 some 1.200 exhibitors from all over the world will display their new products and furnishing philosophies in the cathedral city. With its rich tradition dating back to 1949, imm cologne is the place where new products are launched and upcoming trends emerge, right at the start of the year.

The imm cologne has been an established part of Architonic's trade fair programme since 2003. Accordingly, this year we will be there once again with our team and we look forward to welcoming you to our Concept Space and informing you about our latest services for manufacturers, dealers, representatives, architects and designers. Just like last year, you will find us directly at the entrance to Halls 11.1 and 11.2, next to the East entrance.

Architonic Guide

For many trade fair visitors the Architonic Guide has become an indispensable companion. Every year we go to a lot of trouble in advance of the fair to select for you the exhibitors and events which we think will be especially significant -- to ensure that you don't miss anything and can make the best possible use of your valuable time.
To enable you to prepare your visit to the fair the guide is now available for you to download as a PDF file using the link below. Printed copies will be available free of charge at the stands of the selected exhibitors and from the Architonic Concept Space.

Special events at the imm cologne
The House - Pure Village - LivingInteriors - Architours

The House

This year the imm cologne is devoting itself to the subjects of flexibility and capacity for change on the part of living space. The increasingly hybrid use of rooms is making new demands on the conception and design of furniture and furnishings, which in turn is leading to the creation of new types of product and combinations of functions.
Part of this programme formulated by the imm is "The House - Interiors on Stage", with which the imm cologne has given the London designer duo of Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien a field for experimentation in which they can use the latest products to make a creative statement on modern interior design. As a result "The House - Interiors on Stage" represents an individual interpretation of the latest trends in which architectural elements together with interior and exterior space merge with arrangements consisting of furniture and furnishing elements. The aim of the project is to highlight current trends in interior design and to offer a blueprint for social change as displayed in furnishing. "The House" can be found in the centre of Hall 3.2, in the Pure Village.

Pure Village

The "Pure Village" concept of this hall is being presented for the third time as part of the imm cologne and has succeeded in establishing itself as an annex to Hall 11. With a layout which is reminiscent of village structures this area creates a pleasant and open trade fair format with stands which are small but highly diversified. From our point of view the themes of interior design have successfully been enriched well beyond the element of furniture, while maintaining a clear dedication to premium products. We are looking forward in particular to the concentrated comeback of some major Swiss brands with their joint "Swiss Design" stand, a kind of rebirth of the legendary "Forum 8".
This year "Pure Village" will also be home to "D3 Design talents", which presents young designers and start-up companies. "The Stage" will present talks and discussion forums on this subject.

LivingInteriors

As a new feature this year the imm will be launching a new trade fair format in Hall 4.2 which is intended to appeal equally to trade visitors and consumers: LivingInteriors. Last year LivingKitchen proved a great success and the expectations of this new feature are correspondingly high. Interior design worlds composed of furniture, bathrooms, flooring, walls and lighting will present materials, surfaces and furnishings integrated in a professionally designed context.
In Hall 4.2 the "Boulevard of Innovations" will also present the results of the imm cologne's Interior Innovation Award. The jury consisted of Carole Baijings, Barbara Friedrich, Andrej Kupetz, Philippe Nigro, Giulio Ridolfo, Gerhard Wolf.
