Like a phoenix from the flames
imm cologne 2011

It's certainly not only due to the renewed fortunes of the Germany economy, but also thanks to imm cologne's clever and forward-looking new strategy that the furniture fair seems to be rising once again like a phoenix from the flames. Waiting lists and numerous international exhibitors, among them more Italian manufacturers, are testimony to the long overdue revival of the long-standing imm cologne.

Like a phoenix from the flames

Of particular note is the successful comeback of the kitchen branch. After several years away, kitchens are represented once again at imm cologne with three halls of comprehensive exhibits. Another gambit can be found in Hall 11.1, where the area of textile design is represented extensively by numerous renowned manufacturers, which the Cologne furniture fair appears to be taking from the almost concurrent Heimtextil show in Frankfurt.
The Pure Village concept in Hall 3.2 promises to help imm cologne take one step further in its evolution from furniture fair into an interiors show. Just how big a step that is we'll be able to tell you after the event.
What's more, the numerous events beyond the fair as part of the now well-established 'Passagen' serve to create an exciting programme of fringe events. (More information on this can be found in our Architonic Guide.)
Architonic, too, will be there once again for you with its Concept Space. You'll find us, as before, in the passage between Halls 10 and 11, directly next to the East Entrance. We'd be delighted if you paid us a visit.

The Architonic Disco at the atmospheric King Georg Klubbar has managed to secure the reputation of being the leading party venue for the Cologne fairs. Once again, we'd like to invite you to join us every night from Monday 17 to Wednesday 19 October, from 9.00pm to 2.00am, at the King Georg, Sudermanstrasse 2 (near Ebertplatz). Entry costs €10, and, should the venue be full, you will need an invitation to get in. Register here for the guest list (free entry).

Architonic Guide imm cologne 2011

The growing number of relevant fairs and the rapidly expanding number of products and manufacturers out there sometimes makes it difficult for you to get a good overview of things. With our tried-and-tested Architonic Guide, we'd like to help you to prepare easily and effectively for the fair jungle.
We've brought together in a handy format the best manufacturers from this year's imm cologne with stand numbers and hall plans. A calendar of city events tells you everything you need to know about what's going on outside the fair. The guide, as ever, is available for you to pick up from the stands of manufacturers who are listed in it, and can already be downloaded here.

Architonic Guide BAU 2011

Overlapping with imm cologne is BAU, the international fair for architecture, materials and systems, which takes place from 17 to 22 January. For the first time, Architonic has published a guide to this fair, which underscores the emphases of architecture, construction and materials that the event has steadily developed over the last three years. The best manufacturers have been compiled into the usual handy format. As ever, you'll find the guide at the stands of manufacturers who feature in it, while a PDF version, as well as an interactive app for your iPhone, are available now for you to download.
