Kvadrat Soft Cells are patented acoustic preformed panels developed by Kvadrat that are suitable for use as either part of a new build project or for retro-fitting to improve the acoustic performance of an existing building. They are ideal in any setting where outstanding aesthetics and acoustics need to be combined with durability, flexibility and sustainability. Consequently, they are particularly well-suited to hospitality venues and offices.
Soft Cells panels create an environment with excellent acoustic properties that promotes productivity and well-being. There are two types of Soft Cells panel available: the original Soft Cells; which relies on a double layer of tensioned textile to control light and sound, and Soft Cells Broadline; which incorporate acoustic foam behind a single front textile layer to deliver Class-A sound absorption, to the ISO 11654 standard.
The Soft Cells system has been designed by Kvadrat to deliver optimal acoustic performance and is based on an aluminium frame that conceals a textile tensioning mechanism, which can be adjusted according to fabric type, size and orientation. The design of Soft Cells is also extremely flexible: the frames can be manufactured in very large sizes and installed at virtually any angle, including on curved surfaces. The panels are very easy to install, thanks to a track system, hinges and press latch brackets. The frames are fully detachable and offer the ability for hassle free access, without having to be dismounted.
The design and production of Soft Cells reflects Kvadrat’s commitment to minimising the environmental impact of their products and processes. The panels are built to last and have a lifespan of at least 25 years. Primarily made from recycled aluminium, they can be moved and re-sized to meet changing requirements, as often as required. Allowing for a change in an interiors scheme. they are also easy to disassemble and the majority of their parts can be recycled, reinforcing Soft Cells green credentials.
