The concept of D-Tour is that usualy switches of standard lamps are taboo; designers don't know exactly where to put them. So the idea is to give a simple and non-technological response to this subject by emphasizing the switch. That's why the shaft makes a little "detour" around the switch to reveal it and also to shape a handle.
