HPL is a High Pressure Decorative Laminate manufactured to European standard EN438 and ISO4586. HPL are sheets consisting of layers of cellulose fibrous material (paper, an organic growing material) impregnated with thermosetting resins and bonded together in a high pressure process, resulting in a material of great strength that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor usage. By architectural design this straight perfect surface has absolute durability and resistance. This makes it the ideal partner in combination with stainless steel. HPL is not susceptible to corrosion or oxidation and therefore needs no further surface protection. HPL is cured and chemically inert having no migration affecting foodstuffs making it approved for contact with food etc. The decorative surface is resistant to common household solvents and chemicals, making it a perfect surface for use where cleanliness and hygiene are paramount. HPL is difficult to ignite and has properties that actively retard the “spread of flame” resulting in prolonged evacuation times.
