Guardian and discoverer, traditionalist and trendsetter, retrospective and forward-looking: ClassiCon (Classic Contemporary Design) sees itself as a bridge that spans stylistic eras. Besides international furniture gems of the 20th century, it also presents outstanding contemporary designs with the potential to become tomorrow's classics. What they have in common is a consistently stylish aesthetic language that rises above short-lived fashions and thus conveys an aura of elegant value. In addition, ClassiCon is the only licensee in the world that produces and distributes the collection of Eileen Gray (1878-1976), adhering faithfully to the original designs, delivering top-quality craftsmanship and meeting the highest ecological standards.

Oliver Holy, ClassiCon's CEO since 2002, is an avid supporter of the sustainable concept: "About 70% of our products are produced here in Bavaria by traditional family-run companies that we cultivate close connections with. This direct contact with our manufacturers is very important to us: we value the short communication chains, the specialists and their many years of training, the fact that there are no language barriers to overcome and, most importantly of all, the truly excellent quality. The young generation is in the process of rediscovering craftsmanship, and the underlying ecological concept is something that comes naturally to them. The characteristic glass pedestal of the Bell Table, for instance, is made by an artisanal glassworks in the Bavarian Forest, and the brass funnels are forged at Lake Tegernsee. Our wooden furniture is made by domestic cabinetmakers, and we source the exceptionally soft, non-toxic leather for the Munich Lounge Chair from a small firm in the Allgäu region that uses vegetable tanning agents. Our philosophy for success: superbly crafted workmanship and the maxim think global, act local – that's how we remain faithful to our values." PT
