The Stockholm Furniture Fair is the Scandinavian market's most important furniture fair, and can be characterised above all by its manageable number of selected exhibitors. With its extensive programme of seminars, young-designer exhibitions and impressive installations, this fair manages like no other to create an inspiring atmosphere beyond its business purpose. We look forward once again to being part of it with our Concept Space, and extend a warm invitation to you to drop by for a chat and a demonstration or some training. You'll find us right by the entrance to Hall A.

Seminars at the Stockholm Furniture Fair

Apart from highly considered presentations by exhibitors, the Stockholm Furniture Fair is also offering, once again, a wide-ranging programme of interestesting seminars this year. Architects and designers, but also manufacturers and retailers, will discuss the latest trends and innovations.

Specialist subjects will be debated in the podium discussions - at the top of the list, the pressing challenge to create a sustainable future.

A highly promising round-table discussion, whose title is 'How architecture affects behaviour - from the static box to the dynamic environment' - will take place between the Danish architect Kim Herforth Nielsen of 3XN, the Dutch architect Emma Rost from VMX Architects, Burkhard Remmers from the German office-furniture manufacturer Wilkhahn, and Andreas Störiko, the German product designer. At the heart of the debate is what we currently understand by the apparently outdated notion of 'ergonomics'. Despite the sophistication of technology and the decrease in the strain on the body, cases of illness are on the rise: a problem Wilkhahn has been tackling for years and which Burkhard Remmers will talk about.

Kim Herforth Nielsen will, in his talk, look at the ways architects might be able to influence the creation of an ergonomic work environment. Serving as an example is the recently completed Head Office of the Middelfart Savings Bank, a regional bank designed by 3XN, which has already picked up several awards for Denmark's best workplace.

This year's Design Bar by Katrin Greiling

The Stockholm Furniture Fair uses the Design Bar as an annual forum for young Swedish designers to be able to present themselves and their visions.

The Swedish designer Katrin Greiling has spent a number of years living and working in different cultures, in particular in the Middle East. Back in her hometown of Stockholm she was commissioned to design this year's Design Bar and VIP Lounge at the Stockholm Furniture Fair. She will, in her signature narrative style, apply her multicultural influences and experiences to a remarkable 320m² space. We're very excited.
