upholstered easy chair
ash or walnut, naturally tanned leather

Product is available in a limited edition.

The surprisingly soft easy chair Saddler hides the upholstery in a very refined wooden structure. The frame available in ash wood or walnut is made with excellent details and the leather on seat and backrest is formed with handcraft techniques from saddlery.

Being skin itself leather is one of the most sensual materials to the human touch. The seat and the backrest of the easy chair are formed as a smooth landscape of valleys and hills. Exclusively naturally tanned leather is used. The frame contains itself and sports artful details of joinery being assembled by mortise and tenon. The two different types of wood are worked with to produce a light-dark combination. All wooden parts are planed by hand and its sharp edges additionally contrast the sinuous leather forms. Saddler is a multi-sensual experience, enhanced by contrast and the distinctiveness of the unexpected.

The designers of Pudelskern on their work:
“There can’t be a definition of what is beautiful and what is not, but we conduct an evolving discourse about the perception of things. Also we mostly use other terms rather than beauty – like distinctiveness, idiosyncrasy or immersion. What we certainly know is that we like outcomings that withstand a second look and do not reveal everything on first sight. A closer look can show details of things and beauty tends to win or lose the more we know about the object – the same way it is with people.”
