The new apartment has been placed on top of the existing garages of a residential build from the 60's as an independent element. The notion of adding is strengthened by the cantilevered box on both sides. The massiveness of the dark grey, concrete elements contrasts against the translucent, glass lamella. The lamellas serve both to structure the facades and to limit undesired views. One of the pre-existing garages was redeveloped into the new entrance. The ascent into the living area is highlighted by a protruding staircase encased in glass. This new cube is separated as an additive element by glass joints from other parts of the building. The interiors are shaped by the interaction of simple materials and light effects.
