Hellenic Duty Free Shop

Hellenic Duty Free Shops sells duty free goods to travellers at Greek border points and was launched in 1979 when it opened its first two stores. Today the company operates a network of 90 duty free shops at 45 border stations, in ports and airports throughout Greece. The company’s wide range includes perfumes, cosmetics, liquors, confectionary, food, clothing, jewellery, watches and travel accessories with exclusive Greek and international brands.

With the new concept for the perfumery department at Heraklion airport, the company architect wanted to create a very different statement. The aim was to achieve a new, fresh atmosphere with flawless visual merchandising. To accomplish a successful project and increase sales, great importance was attached to high-quality furniture combined with an efficient shop fitting system.

Kyvernitis I. S.A., Visplay’s exclusive dealer in Greece and Cyprus, manufactured the furniture and successfully implemented the customer’s specifications. The furniture included special dividers between the individual elements which provided the opportunity to rearrange products. Perfume and cosmetics labels are now clearly visible, grouping products of the same brand without any separation.

The horizontal support system Invisible 6 P/L with integrated power rail meets all the requirements for optimum merchandise display. The economic 24V low voltage lighting technology is ideal for temperature-sensitive products. Shelves with integrated lighting can simply be inserted anywhere along the Invisible 6 P/L profile: “plug and light”. The lighting points directly at the merchandise thus preventing shadow zones. Perfect lighting of beauty products increases their perceived value and induces more impulse buys.
