Profile
WISE Architecture is a multi-cultural design firm based on Seoul, Korea offering architectural design, interior design, programming and space analysis, and master planning. Our research based collaborative approach creates the end products are innovative and functional, but esthetically pleased with great attention of environmental concerns. We believe architecture is the medium to cross-over the boundaries in between times, spaces, arts, and people. It is our passion to this project to visualize our philosophy both in real and perceived.
Young Jang, AIA, LEED AP received his Master of Architecture from University of California, Berkeley after received Bachelor of Science in Architecture from Hongik University in Korea. He is a registered architect whose background includes such major international design firms as Rafael Vinoly Architects, and Steven Holl Architects, New York, and Iroje Architects and Planners, Seoul, Korea.
Sook Hee Chun, AIA, LEED received her Master of Architecture from Princeton University after received BS in Architecture from Ewha Womans University in Korea. She is a registered architect whose background includes such prestigious design firms as Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects, New York and Iroje Architects and Planners, Seoul, Korea.
After Jointly establishing WISE Architecture in 2008, the two designed the Chesterfiled Penthouse in New York and Y-House in Gumho, Seoul. They have participated in many architectural activities such as ’Yi Sang’s House’ project in collaboration with other architects, and are planning and exhibiting ‘Box Mobile Galley” in public. Also, they won “War & Women Right Museum” in 2011. Jang and Chun worked as architectural instructors at Korea National University of Arts and are teaching at Ewha Womans University, and participated in the 2010 Anyang Public Art Project and the 2011 SAKIA Workshop.
