Thermoformable high performance panels are composed of coconut fibers and polypropylene (PP). Coconut fiber is used as a replacement for synthetic polyester fibers found in traditional compression-molded composites. These sheets are thermoformable for use in packaging, automotive interiors, luggage construction, furniture, signage and appliances. The board is made by shredding the whole husk of the coconut into a brown dust-like substance. It is then placed on a hot press which adds the right combination of heat and pressure, compressing the dust together to form a sheet of particleboard. Most of the cost associated with particleboard is glue which is toxic and expensive compared to coconut which does not use any glue. Coconuts are useful for diesel fuel, composite material for plastics, automotive applications and binder-less particleboard. Available in any size sheet up to 5 ft (1.52 m) wide and up to 20 yds (18.28 m) in length. Suitable for use in packaging, automotive interiors, luggage construction, furniture, signage and appliances.
