In the hub of Copenhagen's colorful neighbourhood, Noerrebro, in Noerrebrogade 45, you will find Rud. Rasmussen. One of the oldest Danish cabinet makers still producing.
Rud. Rasmussen was founded in 1869 by Rudolph Rasmussen and ever since then the company has been handed down from generation to generation. Fourth generation represented by master cabinet maker and architect Jørgen Rud. Rasmussen handed over the reputable workshop on December 1st 2011 to the company Carl Hansen & Son, also a Danish family owned manufacturer of high quality furniture.
Carl Hansen & Son has succeeded in establishing a wide international sales network with showrooms in New York and Tokyo. For the future, Rud. Rasmussens furniture will become an integrated part hereof. Carl Hansen & Son continues Rud. Rasmussens production and showroom in Nørrebrogade 45.
What characterises Rud. Rasmussen is the close collaboration between the architect and cabinet maker. Back in time Rud. Rasmussen joined forces with Thorwald Bindesbøl and Martin Nyrop, amongst others, in connection with Copenhagen City Hall at the turn of the century. In the late 1920s contact was established to Kaare Klint and Mogens Koch whose designs Rud. Rasmussen has produced ever since. In this respect our production is quite unique.
In the heart of our corporate quality culture is our determination to create Danish furniture classics without compromising quality and craftsmanship.
