Yin Yang Bed
Architonic ID: 1077981
Année de Lancement: 2008
The Yin Yang bed is an extendable bed and can be adjusted in size at the same height. The elegant solution and high-quality workmanship make it a handcrafted design object made of fine wood. The bed is metal-free.
The Yin Yang bed is characterised by the simplicity of its form and the principle of size adjustability. The pull-out bed is practical and beautiful thanks to a simple consideration. The slats create an interesting interplay between openness and closeness; depending on the degree to which they are pulled out, a more or less wide web is created in the intersection of the elements. In addition, the flexibility of the slats offers good lying and sitting comfort. The Yin Yang bed can also be used as a seating platform with the character of a spatial object. When pushed together, the air space under the bed can be used to store a mattress.
The bed consists of a total of 148 mortise-and-tenon joints. This traditional construction was already used by the ancient Egyptians and has been a solid wooden joint in carpentry for thousands of years. The Yin Yang bed can be continuously widened from a folded width of 105 cm to 200 cm.
