Welcome to the Green Furniture Award!
This is a competition to encourage the production of furniture with Outstanding Sustainable Design.
1 year old birches at the BERHIN plantation -
Outstanding Sustainable Design incorporates aspects such as the choice and sourcing of material, production methods, efficient use of materials and ways of disassembling and recycling. Outstanding Sustainable Design also meaning a piece of furniture to keep and treasure – with a story to tell, that ages in a nice way, that can last beyond current trends and have the potential of becoming a classic.

The Green Furniture Award is sponsored by Green Furniture Sweden, the furniture leg of the BERHIN studios and was awarded for the first time in 2009. The Green Furniture Award consists of the following prizes:apply here
1) A first prize of 50 000 SEK (approx. 5000 Euro) + prototype costs
The contribution winning the first Prize 2010 will be exhibited at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2010.
2) A second prize of 30 000 SEK (approx. 3000 Euro)
3) A third prize of 20 000 SEK (approx. 2000 Euro)
Any applicable taxes to be paid in full by the winners.
