A modern version of the corner bench, Stijl is homage to the traditional, rustic corner bench. For Richard Lampert, Alexander Seifried has created a contemporary reinterpretation of the dated bench and table set. According to Seifried, Stijl is reminiscent of the original table, bench and corner bench, of mother’s kitchen, where steaming pots and the flavours of good, homemade food wet the taste buds of both family members and guests. The result is a deliberately subtle design.
Unconventional and comfortable: with its simple design, Stijl projects a modern feel without losing in comfort. The inspiration behind both the reduced design language and the name was the ‘De Stijl’ movement, founded in 1917 by Theo van Doesburg and Piet Mondrian. The set, made of a 5-layer coniferous wood, consists of a bench, corner bench and table, available in either grey or white. The bench and corner bench come in both a pure wood or upholstered design. The upholstered version is available with cognac-coloured suede covers and with two different textile covers. It is also possible to choose a combination of those materials.
Individual modules allow the bench to be extended to a corner bench, which is available in both standard sizes matching the table dimensions and in tailormade sizes according to individual requirements. The table comes in three standard lengths (160 cm, 180 cm and 200 cm) and with a standard width of 90 cm. A drawer and shelf below the tabletop are reminiscent of the classic Alpine style table and offer additional storage.
