The first, one-piece, moulded and shaped, outdoor chair made entirely of completely recyclable steel was made thanks to an innovative high-tech method, which marked an important evolutionary approach towards metal for EMU. This development started with sheet and tubular metal, followed by rods. Pattern is an experiment with pressed sheet metal, breaking away from the tube and mesh design of the past.
Arik Levy, the refined designer of the collection, says that Pattern was devised as a structural idea of transparency and lightness, immersed in a landscape of barely sketched outlines and visual tricks of technological beauty. The Pattern collection consists of a family of seats (stackable chairs) and tables of different sizes obtained from a single foil of sheet metal, all featuring the typical hexagonal decoration. They are extremely robust despite their light weight, and are practically indestructible regardless of the weather. The collection is available in five new colours that enhance the design and the unmistakable style of Pattern.
New in the Pattern range for 2012 is the large, rectangular table and two sizes of stools, all with the distinctive, hexagonal pattern belonging to this collection. The higher stool has a footrest with a moulded, stainless steel cover. The smaller stool can be used for any occasion in any environment. It is contained in a colourful, easy-to-carry, presentation pack and is the only product in this line which is also available in aluminium, a more suitable colour for both indoor and outdoor use.
Colours available: white, black, green, red, blue. Small stool also available in aluminium
