Cushions are archetypical pieces of seating furniture, especially in Arab countries. With the Jalis chairs they are raised to a European seating level and transformed into chairs. It looks simple, but that is deceptive. What looks like a cushion with a kink in it is in fact a complexly upholstered, comfortable and stably built item of seating furniture and a relative of the eponymous sofa. The chair comes with different frames, ranging from wood to metal. Matching these, thanks to their corresponding lower sections, are the dining tables with a rounded or cornered tabletop. This in turn is flattened off at the edges, giving it a particularly refined air, almost as if it were floating.
