In Frame, the late Erik Ole Jørgensen, who was an architect, has captured and systematised the structure of Japanese rice paper. Frame is a suitable name for Erik Ole Jørgensen’s simple curtain. The word Frame is both a noun and a verb, reflecting the fundamental properties of a curtain. It both frames and screens a defined area. From a distance, the curtain appears to be of uniform colour with a plain surface. Close up, you notice the little checks in the weaving. The curtain reveals a structure and pattern that accentuate its specific identity in terms of artistry and quality. The colours run the gamut from pale to powerful making the material suitable for decoration in the home or in public settings. The simplicity of the design allows for traditional draping or for use as roller blinds or panel curtains. With due deference to Erik Ole Jørgensen, the colour palette has now been refreshed. Some of the darker colours have been removed and bright, fresh colourways added – altogether, 25 colours, 11 of which are new.
