“Edo Collection” was created as a new encounter between Baccarat and Japan.
The motifs were chosen from antique Kimonos from Edo era kept by the J. Front Retailing Archive Museum in Kyoto. The motifs express good fortune with traditional symbolism and with surprisingly modern taste. They tell the timeless spirit of celebration.
“Pine tree, bamboo and plum bloom are the most traditional and popular motif of good fortune.
Bending branch of pine tree and smooth line of bamboo expanding fully on four screen of the vase shows beautiful contrast. Gold decoration adds an accent on the plum bloom.
The texture of Kanoko Shibori (fine tie-dye technique of Kimono) is represented on the circle on the front side.“
