The unpretentious subframe with its discreetly flowing circular aluminium base-plate merges smoothly into the design of the armchair. Its tilt mechanism, height adjustment and comfortable angle of inclination give the DS 256 all the classic qualities of a handmade shoe from a master-cobbler’s last: it ensures an absolutely perfect fit. Its soaring armrests mirror the rhythmic wing beat of a flamingo. Sitting in this armchair, you rise effortlessly above the irksome tug of bourgeois gravity.
