Dorsoduro de Varaschin

The in–out philosophy of Varaschin finds full expression in the padded furniture of the Dorsoduro series, designed by Calvi and Brambilla for indoors but with an extreme linearity of form and simple, warm-hued materials that evoke the idea of a Mediterranean veranda, a space that is intimate and comfortable while at the same time projecting outward toward the natural landscape, creating an atmosphere of privileged well-being. The series is realized in solid hackberry wood that is subjected to a slow, high-temperature treatment which makes it very resistant to humidity and it becomes progressively darker the higher the temperature to which it is exposed. Dorsoduro also includes a family of inviting sofas and armchairs characterized by a structure of wide slats in solid hackberry, also thermo-treated, with a transparent waxed finish. Seat and back cushions make them especially comfortable. The padded furniture is accompanied by two end tables in wood with a black lacquered top, in two sizes. The high square coffee table, functional and simple, can be perfectly adapted for placement next to a sofa, while the rectangular version, outfitted with a leather magazine pouch, can be placed in front.

Occasional tables with solid wood structure in tobacco finish with MDF tops in mat black lacquer, in the rectangular version the rigenerated hide insert acts as a magazine holder.
