Textile floor tiles? For the most part a very down-to-earth matter in interior architecture until now. When efficiency and functionality were the sole demand being placed on the floor, homogeneous carpet tiles joined to form an equally homogeneous floor covering. “Just why is that so?” was the question Vorwerk Carpets posed jointly with Hadi Teherani.

They created the design tile collections SCALE and FreeSCALE, and proceeded to promptly reinvent the floor. Hadi Teherani designed, Vorwerk produced. The result is a uniquely free tile concept that deliberately breaks with all previous conventions – SCALE classically at right angles, FreeSCALE with 3 free-form variations.
