The Italian brand, Serralunga, in collaboration with designer Raffaella Mangiarotti (deepdesign) redesigned this classic piece, making it both innovative, comfortable and for the first time, practical to use outdoors.
Serralunga’s revisioin makes the chair easy to stack, thus, a great space-saver, especially for contract use by substituting the quilted leather with the practicality of plastic while still keeping the ‘capitonnè’ effect for the backrest.
The allure of this classic piece was made possible through the use of plastic materials in a sophisticated rotating molding system, a technique in which the Biella company is the worldwide leader as furniture manufacturer.
The new Barceloneta by Serralunga is a remake designed to meet today’s needs for outdoor living, ideal for nautical and in public environments.
This season, the project is in keeping with the company’s intent which takes some of the great classics of design giving them a more upbeat stylish contemporary look.

Following the international success of the Barceloneta chair, put forward at the last Salone del Mobile, Italian designer Raffaella Mangiarotti (deepdesign) aims to complement the chair with a Barceloniña pouff.
A natural choice motivated by a desire to create a comfortable and functional piece of furniture to enhance the chair as much in an indoor setting as on the edge of a swimming pool.
The pouff is deliberately small in size to meet spatial requirements. It is therefore also ideal for the contract sector. The chair, made from soft polyurethane, is extremely comfortable and retains the capitonnè effect of the Barceloniña. The sober mood makes the Barceloniña a contemporary, informal item. At the same time, the piece adapts perfectly to current urban outdoor demands.
