For the Pavia café table, Mollino drew on traditional rustic designs for inspiration. The complex leg system is distinguished by the thru-tenon joinery. The Pavia restaurant was located in the same ski resort as Mollino's earlier Casa del Sole (1947-1955), in which Mollino first employed the iconic chair design.
