There exists only a second example of this “C1” chair with a cone-shaped foot, whose condition, however, is worse, and which features different colours. Unlike the present model, the serial model of the “C1” has a steel frame with an X- shaped or dish-shaped base. In its consistent reduction to the geometric forms of the cone and sphere in combination with the colours red and black, this chair numbers among the most important programmatic solutions in 20th-century design history.
