Sylvia Soh, M. Arch
Sylvia Soh was born in Malaysia in 1976. After completing Bachelor of Architecture degree at National University of Singapore in 1998, she won an exchange programme to Bartlett University College of London. In 1999, she successfully obtained Lord Norman Foster fellowship to complete Master of Architecture degree at Bartlett in London.
On graduation in 2000, she joined Foster + Partners in the London headquarter office and was involved in the design of New Supreme Court building in Singapore. In 2001, she returned to Singapore, setting up the Singapore site office to finish the building on site. In 2004, she was made an Associate of the practice and for two years she had a leading role in the design of a proposed 6-star resort project on Sentosa Island.
On 2005, she left Foster + Partners and founded Soh Design Studio based in Singapore. She believes in designing user experiences that are to make meaningful connections between people and buildings. Her current and recent works include an award-winning visitor centre completed in 2008 and a self-sustainable boutique resort to complete in 2011.
