A wood-fired stove designed by Dick van Hoff. This accumulating concrete stove is an exmple of authentic use of materials in a robust design: a steel interior cased by concrete elements. The design of the Stonestove is based on the capacity of concrete to accumulate and store heat. The heat of the fire builds up in the fireproof exterior, and is gradually emitted to its surroundings. This creates a constant and soft radiation of warmth, even when the fire is temporarily extinguished. With a visible woodfire in an industrial stove, the Stonestove is a modern translation of a traditional heating concept, long-lasting and comfortable.
