Recuperation, transformation and reinterpretation are the essential concepts of Maison Martin Margiela's aesthetic expression. The Groupe sofa originates from the creative assembly of found objects: chairs, armchairs and couches of different periods and styles, draped with and united by a white linen cover, cut and stitched as to reveal the forms underneath while hiding materials and colours. The result is an extremely expressive form which evokes the lines of extremely familiar elements but which is also ethereal and timeless. The Emmanuelle armchair is reinterpreted in the same way but, thanks to its iconic identity, as a single piece, revealed through a candid cover of white cotton. The concepts of Maison Martin Margiela are industrialized for production without compromising the spirit of the original idea but rather benefitting from all of those qualities that are typical of good design: comfort, strength, ease of assembly and qualitative consistence. A great and innovative idea that found expression in comfortable and functional pieces.

Sofa composed of three elements with internal plywood structure and CFC-free soft polyurethane foam, shaped from block, featuring different densities of the material. Internal heavyweight Dacron cover and separated cushions with down filling. The elements are assembled on a steel support structure with adjustable feet and feature an external cover in 100% linen fabric.
