Practice History

3DReid is the merger of REID architecture with 3D Architects in the summer of 2007. The resultant combination of both successful organisations is a practice which can provide a high level of expertise and service to its clients across a wide range of sectors.

3D Architects was an Architects Journal Top 100 practice established in 1989. It had over 180 architects and staff in its Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester and London offices. The practice operated in a range of private and public sectors including office, retail, residential, hospitality, industrial, distribution, health and education at all levels from complex urban regeneration to stand-alone developments. Projects included a major retail and office development on Edinburgh’s famous Princes Street within the World Heritage Site, a large scale mixed use neighbourhood centre in the Forth Quarter, Edinburgh and the Clackmannanshire and Borders Schools PPP programmes.

REID architecture was established in 1979. It operates from its Birmingham, Glasgow, and London offices designing a wide range of projects in the airport, office, retail, residential, leisure, industrial and distribution, and urban design sectors. It is a highly research focussed practice and employs its unique ‘Knowledge Design‘ approach to architectural design. It has recently won a string of awards culminating in an RIBA Award for its Farnborough Air terminal building.

3DReid is ranked 7th biggest architectural practice in the UK*.
