Works by Middletown Silverware are extremely rare, and the designer of this set was unknown until this year. On January 24, 1928, Elwood Cornell filed for a patent on a teapot of the same design and on January 7, 1930, it was granted (U.S. Patent No. 74,863). The extremely progressive pattern seems inspired by the famed "Cubic" service by Erik Magnussen, as well as the work of Elsa Tennhardt.

Silver-plated metal all pieces stamped with the firm's silver-plate and patent pending marks (7) pitcher: 71/8 in. (18.1 cm) high
