This table base, originally fitted with a granite top, was used in Marcel Breuer's private office at 113 E. 37th Street in 1953 and moved to his office on 57th Street in 1956. In 1966, the Breuer office moved to larger quarters at 535 Madison Avenue and a new granite base was designed for the existing granite top. At that time, the table base was acquired by a young architect working in the Breuer firm. A unique work of modern furniture from on the the masters of twentieth century design. Sold with letter of authencity.
