Stefan Diez was born in Freising / Germany in 1971. After a course in architecture and an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker he went to India for a year where he designed and constructed furniture for a company in Bombay and Poona. Returning to Germany he studied Industrial Design at the Academy of fine Arts in Stuttgart 1996 - 2002. He worked as assistant of Richard Sapper and later for Konstantin Grcic. In Jan 2003 he set up his own design studio in Munich where he develops furniture, products and exhibition designs. He is/was working for Rosenthal AG, Authentics, Elmar Flötotto, Nymphenburg Porzellanmanufaktur, Schönbuch, WMF AG, Uwe Braun/Würth Solar, Fischer AG, NANOO.
