All attempts to get back to the roots take us to Waldshut in the Upper Rhine region of Germany. This is where the world's first sprung swivel chair was developed. Also, the first five-star base with swivel castors. And with its dynamic backrest, Sedus set standards that are still valid in the international arena today. Swivel chairs with the Similar and Sedo-Lift mechanisms are among the most user-friendly and most reliable in the world.

The sky's the limit as far as the imagination and innovation capacity of the ergonomics experts in Waldshut are concerned. With a backrest that offers a very large opening angle, Sedus promoted power napping in the office (open up). Total mobility is made possible with a complete range of seminar chairs on castors (no limits). Backrests that turn through 360° encourage communications (turn around).

Together with architects and designers, numerous innovative products have been developed and received top international design prizes for their form and functionality.
