About Gärsnäs AB

Gärsnäs was established in 1893 and is one of Sweden´s oldest, still active furniture makers. We manufacture modern, functional furniture of the highest quality for all kinds of environments, products created by prominent designers and architects. One of the leading lights is interior architect Åke Axelsson, who has over 40 years of design work for the company behind him and is a part owner together with Dag Klockby, Anna Klockby, Jan-Ove Forsell and Kenneth Johansson.

In all, 50 persons are employed at Gärsnäs. Production is mainly concentrated on wood products, using beech, birch, maple, walnut, oak and ash. The head office, product development and manufacture are gathered under the same roof in the 10.000 sq m facility in Gärsnäs, 90 km east of Malmö.

Most of our customers are found in government, local government, trade and industry, but we also serve private customers. The shop at the plant in Gärsnäs is open all year round and our showroom at Rödbodtorget in Stockholm is a meeting place for everyone in the trade.

Gärsnäs´ furniture is sold through a network of selected retailers. Exports are mainly directed to our Scandinavian neighbours, but we also have established agents in France, Great Britain, the US and Japan. Exports make up about 15% of our turnover.

Gärsnäs meets all requirements in existing environmental legislation and, through its high degree of in-house processing, is able to maintain control over factors that affect the environment. Deliveries are to a large extent made without packing materials, in our own lorries, directly to the customer.
