Experiencing wood.
The stage set created at Designers’ Saturday 2008 for horgenglarus, the manufacturers of wooden chairs and tables, gave visitors the feeling that they were strolling at twilight through a forest in autumn. A narrow passage with wooden slats from the chair production, hanging from the ceiling like filigree tree trunks, led visitors into a semi-dark room filled with the tangy scent of wood. Hanging from the ceiling of the room were 15 wooden sculptures formed from chair seats, shining down on a floor full of autumn leaves. Ten installations made from backrest sections created a poetic soundscape as they impacted against one another.
