Architecture demands the discourse with surroundings and client. In Kaprun this has led to a spectacular result: A landmark that sets an exclamation mark behind a unique philosophy, a business concept that won’t be compared to others. The building fits into the Alpine idyll like a sculpture. Bizarre spikes reach for the sky. „A very bold, polarizing and urban architecture, that provokes part of the ‚Lederhosen’-surroundings“, says Christoph Bründl. Retail is always a search for contact and dialogue. Insofar this wedge also has something playful to it. If you shift perspective, the picture shifts too. At times the perforated metal lamellae seem to close, then again they seem transparent. The contemplator is included in the events. The glass joint with the main entrance trenching the concrete shell in a warped diagonal resembles a glacier. Inside, nature can be directly experienced. Through the open roof and the view of the exterior, the artificially created landscape ties in with the real one. The architecture creates a mood that engages the contemplator. The interior design picks up these didactics and interprets the geometry of the building’s face. For Bründl it is all about identity and corporate culture. His intention is to not only combine shopping and experience, but to create a place of communication. The „new Bründl“ has arrived in the center of town.
